Camping gear is often cheapest at local discount retailers like K-Mart and WalMart.
Great Outdoor Provision Company - You can't buy online; there is a store at Northgate, and one at Eastgate in Chapel Hill. GOPC also offers special deals for Scouts, including Venturing Crews. Check out the Scout Page.
REI - lots of gear, and lots of info to help you buy gear wisely; watch for online sales. The store in Durham has the same gear as the Web site, and you can order from the web site and pay no shipping charges if you pick it up at the Durham store.
