Call For District Volunteers
- We have a lot of important work on our plate at the District level and we
need your help . . . either in serving District Committees or serving as
Unit Commissioners. The scope of our needs is varied . . . we have seasonal
needs (like Friends of Scouting), we have openings for Unit Commissioners
(regular unit contact, serving closer to the Scouts), and we have work that
can be managed at monthly District meetings. Among the current positions
open in the District we have:
- District
Committee Members at large
Please contact Richard Jacobs (919-477-1153, rjacobs@hotmail.com) to volunteer or
help us locate people for this important work.
Our District meetings are on the 4th Monday of each month
at the Lions Club located at 1850
Hillandale Road. Check this site for the next meeting date. Your
district can only be as good as the work we are willing to commit to it!

The Scout Sign - The latest Occoneechee Council
newsletter is now available online. Check it
out for Council-wide news. The Scout Sign is much improved since being
published electronically. Information is current, correct and usable to
District and Unit Scouters. It is often a better source of Council
information than the Council web site.
Unit leaders and District Committee members should get an
email notification of new editions of the newsletter. Others can be put on
the list by providing
email addresses online.
